Pearls a Plenty
Sleek and modern with classical allure
Versatility and value to complement changing trends in apparel fashion
are the selling keys when women shop for jewelry, says Andrew Nydick, a
designer in Livingston, NJ. Pearls fit the bill perfectly – even more
so when used in multiples.
Depending on the size, shape and color, multistrand pearl necklaces can
accessorize apparel from casual to formal, from couture to conventional.
They also can represent a good value. Smaller pearls and off-round shapes
cost less, so designers and manufacturers can pile them on to create a bold
look at a more affordable price.
Two pearl trends in coming months –courtesy of Gina Latendresse,

- Large designs with multiple strands.
- Softer, more delicate Tin-Cup-style necklaces and earrings.
