De Beers honors 30 jewelry designers for their creative use of diamonds in jewelry design

Like haute couture for fashion, De Beers credits four decades of winning entries in its Diamonds-International Awards with the advancement of diamond jewelry design.

At the culmination of the 1998 competition, 30 jewelry designers stood out from among the 2,288 international entries for their "original and influential" designs.

The winning creations will be displayed during the worldwide Diamonds-International Awards Collection tour in the coming months. Here is a sampling of the winners:
