Jewelry showcases are moving up in the world
Ruth Mellergaard, president of the retail design company GRID 3 International,
New York City, says some jewelers now opt for showcases that are a few inches
higher than the norm - say, 44-inches high or so. It gets customers closer
to the jewelry so they can see detail without bending over as far. "It's
another way for jewelers to differentiate themselves and their product,"
