Platinum Gap Narrows

Consumer demand for platinum jewelry has grown 600% and platinum jewelry visibility by consumers in stores has grown 37% in the past year, says a study by the Platinum Guild International USA Jewelry.

Growth in the number of manufacturers that make platinum jewelry and stores that carry it goes along way toward narrowing the gap between supply and demand. But more work needs to be done, says the study.

A significant number of jewelers don't stock enough platinum to meet demand. In fact, 20% of retailers in the study said they don't stock enough platinum, and 68% said they rely on special orders to satisfy demand.

Sounds like a good time to boost your platinum reserves.
