Offer watch aficionados tourist advice
If you know a customer or two who may enjoy visiting the source of all
those beautiful Swiss watches you sell, consider offering an educational
travel service.
The Swiss Watchmaking Federation and local tourism agencies offer a new
brochure that maps major horological sites in Switzerland. It lists major
manufacturers and their museums and suggests how to arrange factory tours.
Called Watchmaker Routeand available in three languages, including
English, the brochure also lists more general watch and clock museums.
Copies are available to retailers interested in sharing them with their
customers. Contact Formas Publicity Agency, Signolet 3, CH-2520, La Neuveville,
Switzerland; (41-32) 751-5147, e-mail formaspub@bluewin.ch.
Retailer Tip: Organize a "special
customer" trip to coincide with your trip to the Basel or Geneva watch
fairs in the spring. A local travel agent can help with details.
