More watch companies are keeping in touch
Retailers can now read about watches and watch promotions in Newswatch,
Real Timeand Timelines,new newsletters published by Citizen,
TAG Heuer and Seiko, respectively. Also look for the new News from Around
the Worldby the Swatch Group Ltd. in addition to newsletters from individual
brands such as Rado and Swatch.
These newsletters aren't like the consumer-oriented publications that
some watch companies publish. Instead, the companies have taken the product
updates they used to publish for retailers and freshened them up with larger
sizes, plenty of colorful photography, snappy writing and a focus beyond
just products. Each company's high-profile sponsorships, movie tie-ins,
sports activities and Web site announcements are included.
"Our intent is to inform retailers about how we market our new products
and our service," says Tom McGuire, brand manager for TAG Heuer. The
company's first issue of the 12-page Real Timedebuted this summer.
