In the Pink
Fashions and accessories for spring in a most girlish hue
Celebrated in the happy-go-lucky movie Funny Faceand derided
in the moody and disaffected novel The Bell Jar,the exhortation to
"Think pink!" is the call to

arms for apparel and accessories this spring.
Pink is "the personification of pretty," says the Fashion Group
International, picking it as the No. 1 color of the season.
Other colors predicted to dominate the apparel rainbow are yellow, from
pale shades to the boldness of gold; blue, in every intensity but navy;
cool tones of lilac and gray; and greens from grassy to lime. White replaces
black as the favored basic a canvas on which to paint these more vibrant
colors in clothing and accessories.
December's Elle, for example, shows a cashmere cardigan set off
beautifully by a vintage turquoise and gold necklace.
Other hints include pearls (of course), a bracelet electrified by a richly
colored mosaic of gemstones, an amethyst and white metal ring and more gemstones
linked together for a smashing bracelet.
So, jewelers, get your gemstone inventories up to snuff and stock up
on white metals across all price points these are the best choices
for your fashion-forward customers.
