Gold Use in Jewelry Falls in 1998

The amount of gold used in jewelry production worldwide fell in 1998 for only the second time this decade, according to Gold Survey 1999, published by Gold Fields Mineral Services. Demand for jewelry totaled 3,145 tons, down from 3,342 in 1997.
