Precious Metal Prices Hold Steady

Gold prices continue to run about $50 below those of last year and should continue to do so for the remainder of the year. In fact, they headed slightly downward through the summer.
Platinum prices also are running lower than last year, though not by as big of a margin as gold. They held steady as we entered the third quarter.
Silver is the only precious metal to challenge last year's prices. Of course, silver remains the lowest– priced precious metal, a consideration as consumers start to shop for holiday gifts.
