Patriotic Pearls
Winning designs incorporate pearls from North and South
America
Designers explored the diverse possibilities of American natural
and cultured pearls in Vision '99, a jewelry design competition
sponsored by American Pearl Co., Nashville, TN.
The company honored 12 entrants for their originality and
technical skill. Winners were divided into two categories: the
Discovery Division and the Inspiration Division. Judges were
John Nels Hatleberg of Big Gems, New York City; Stacey King of
Professional Jeweler, Philadelphia, PA; Gerald Manning of Manning
& Associates, New York City; Amber Michelle, a diamond industry
journalist in New York City; and Gary Roskin of JCK magazine,
Radnor, PA.

"Waterlily," a brooch with an American cultured
Domé Pearl® and American natural pearls set in 14k
yellow, pink, green and white gold.
