Precious Metal Prices Mostly Higher
Gold and platinum prices rise, silver falls
The price of gold reached above the $300-per-ounce mark in mid-February, but analysts predict it will settle back into the high two hundreds as the year progresses.
Silver prices are running lower than one year ago, as much as $1.50 below in mid-February. It could be time to look for some designer jewelry in sterling.
Higher demand for platinum jewelry and limited supplies of the metal have pushed prices to the highest levels in more than two years, reaching $555 in mid-February.
