Specialties for the Showcase

Limited availability means unlimited potential

Limited editions – and the exclusivity that comes with them – are just the ticket for your most discerning customers. Being one of only a few like it gives a watch a cachet that never fades. Take a look through a selection of limited editions on this and the facing page.

Also this month, on page 96, we look at new watches for women. Though not limited in number, these watches are designed for the fashion-forward woman who’s not afraid to express her individual style.

The limited-edition Concord Crystale Skeleton is handcrafted in 18k white gold and features a sapphire crystal that angles down at the outside edges to form the top and sides of the case. This allows light to shine through the hand-decorated Piguet skeleton manual movement. Only 100 are available, some with 18 diamonds.

Concord, Lyndhurst, NJ; (201) 460-3331,

The 18k white gold Hommage features a window day/month perpetual calendar, moonphase and date. The leap-year indicator is at 3 o’clock. The handmade movement is marked with the Geneva Quality hallmark. As with all Roger Debuis timepieces, only 28 have been made. Suggested retail, $36,200.

Roger Dubuis, Wilkes-Barre, PA; (570) 822-1900.

Omega created this limited edition (1,938) Museum Collection model based on a 1938 Omega pilot watch. Now a COSC-certified chronometer, the watch contains most original details, including a bidirectional rotating bezel (COSC is the official Swiss testing authority for chronometers). An extra long leather strap allows it to be worn above the knee.

The Panerai Luminor Submersible is a 500-piece limited-edition diver watch with a COSC chronometer rating and water resistance to 3,300 feet. The Valjoux 7750 movement is protected by a 3mm-thick screwdown steel case back and a 5mm sapphire crystal. A helium valve is located on the side for deep dives. Suggested retail, $5,200.
