Perfect Pears

Whether alone or paired with other cuts, this classic shape returns to fashion

As cropped hair and plunging necklines continue in popularity, pear drops for earrings and pendants are a perfect way to accessorize. Thanks to Oprah Winfrey and other celebrities wearing pear shapes, consumer awareness is rising.

Dangles are perfectly suited to showcase the pear’s dimensions. Round stud earrings with a detachable pear that hangs from its point are a classic choice.

Matching sets of pear-shaped diamonds are used often as accent stones in rings. Pear and trillion combinations are popular also and are easy to design because the shape of the diamond dictates the design of the jewelry.

Also, look for diamond accents in the same or complementing shape as the center diamond, such as oval centers with pear-shaped sides.
