After Valentine's Day, it's time to prepare for next month's watch shows


February is a month for Valentine’s Day gifts. Here are some new and unique choices for you to consider. This month also is full of expectation for the new timepieces that will be displayed at the Basel and Geneva shows in March. Look for some of these to appear in the U.S. before your trip to Switzerland.

Rado’s Ovation is inspired by the best-selling Diastar, which debuted 40 years ago as the world’s first scratchproof watch. It’s hypoallergenic thanks to a ceramic case and bracelet and titanium folding clasp. It comes in two sizes and three dial variations, including diamond markers. Retail prices begin at $1,590.

This goldplated version of the Christian Dior Malice has a bracelet with links shaped like C’s and D’s. Also made in steel. Suggested retail as shown, $990, including an interchangeable patent-leather strap.

Corum’s Padlock features a trapezoid stainless steel case that can be set with diamonds. The back has a small keyhole and is perfect for an engraved love note.
