Unusual shapes and delicious colors lend freshwater cultured pearls unique texture, style and appeal

Chinese freshwater cultured pearls continue to experience runaway popularity. It’s no wonder, because improved culturing processes allow these once-humble pearls to mirror classic akoyas. Quantity, high quality and affordable prices combine to make them attractive to everyone – from supplier to retailer to consumer.

The Chinese pearls are available in natural white, pink, lavender, peach, apricot and beige. Peach, lavender and apricot hold the most interest for consumers, as do mixed-color strands.

The most popular designs are woven chokers and collars, drop earrings and multistrand necklaces and bracelets.
