Professional Insider/In the Industry
Provides an industry portal
Jnet is now online at www.jnet.com, offering original content, an easy-to-use Web-site building program and a chance to buy from favorite suppliers and manufacturers.
Jewelers of America and Manufacturing Jewelers & Suppliers of America formed Jnet, based in Plano, TX, in June. Steven Kravit, formerly with Kurgan & Cheviot, Los Angeles, CA, is CEO. Caroline Stanley, a third-generation jeweler and formerly with JA, is vice president of communications
Among its other features, Jnet has links to trade associations, trade magazines, non-industry news that affects the industry and a patent-pending Click & Copy feature that allows you to copy an image from a participating supplier/manufacturers Web site onto your own site, where you then can change the information and pricing. Jnets technology partner is BrandMatrix Ltd., a division of the Polygon Group.
Access to the shopping portion of the site is controlled through the TradeLock system using parameters set up by the individual manufacturers/suppliers. Charter manufacturers include F.D. Jaffe, First Call Distributors, Gem Center, Gem East, Imperial Deltah, Stuller, T. Sardelli & Sons and Tru-Kay Manufacturing.
Jnets board of directors includes John Cohen, co-CEO of Carlyle & Co.; Carolyn Pope, owner of Crews Jewelry; Alan Zimmer, CEO of Reeds Jewelers; Peter Fuller, CEO of Fuller Box Co.; Alan Kaufman, CEO of Tru-Kay; Robert Wueste, CEO of Samuel Aaron; and Dan Bourgoin of Microsoft.
