AWI Announces New Courses
Organization's Chronometer Club seeks new members
The American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute announced two new continuing education courses scheduled to be held at its headquarters in Harrison, OH, near Cincinnati.
The first new course is Making Your Timepiece, Part 2 scheduled for Aug. 27-31. The second is Troubleshooting and Finishing Your Timepiece, scheduled for Sept. 24-28. The instructor will be Laurie Penman, and the fee is $250.
AWI also announced a new two-day bench course titled Recoil Escapement Solid & Strip Pallet. The bench course will be presented Sept. 15-16 in Detroit, MI; Oct. 6-7 in Chicago, IL; and Oct. 20-21 in St. Louis, MO. Penman will teach this course also, and the fee is $200.

Chronometer Club
Separately, AWIs Chronometer Club, one of its larger affiliate chapters, invites members of the watchmaking profession to join as it expands services.
The club provides a technical forum for horologists who service certified chronometer watches. It aims to raise the level of the professions craftsmanship and quality standards.
