Steely Pearls

Black and silver pearls blend with different seasons of clothing

The cool black, steel gray and silver of Tahitian cultured pearls is in tune with the latest apparel fashions. With white metals, the look is sheer ice. With yellow gold, they take on a warmer glow.

Strands of round, fine-quality and exotically colored Tahitian cultured pearls are not within everyone’s reach. However, designers have found ways to make these pearls more affordable. Earrings, rings and pendants use fewer pearls, resulting in a lower price tag. In addition, baroque and circled shapes are generally less expensive than perfectly round ones, and they look good in single-pearl pendants or in earrings.
