Smart Cuffs

Whether plain and silver or fancy and gold, cuff links are enjoying a renaissance

Some say we are living in an age of dandies – men wear more jewelry than has been the case for several generations. In addition to wildly popular and expensive mechanical watches, men sport earrings, neck chains, bracelets, pinky rings and, of course, cuff links.

The glint of metal at the turn of men’s cuffs has grown interesting. They’re no longer simply inexpensive silver tokens purchased at department store counters by desperate families looking for Father’s Day gifts. Today’s cuff links, while still smartly turned out in silver, also featured gold and platinum, as a well as diamonds, colored gemstones and rich enamel. Ancient coins and other motifs are popular also.

Be sure to have a collection of popular cuff links to show to families searching for gifts and men buying for themselves. Many are now cuff link collectors – target them with examples they’ll want to add to their stash.
