White Seems Right

Apparel lightens up for summer

White is the “color” of the season in shirts, dresses and suits, especially for women who love neutrals. It’s also the ultimate backdrop for jewelry. Happily, because white is so simple, almost all the advertisements and fashion layouts this spring accessorized it with jewelry.
So what looks are your customers seeing?

Simplicity. White’s virginal, pure aura demands simplicity in jewelry. From chic hoop earrings to line pendants, the idea is to keep it clean. Other good suggestions for your customers include diamond solitaire jewelry and three-stone diamond jewelry, both of which the Diamond Trading Co. continues to promote heavily.

Sweetness. Heart pendants and other symbolic jewelry bring out the angel in women wearing white. The Platinum Guild’s campaign for platinum hearts ties in nicely, as do many manufacturers’ efforts to promote four-leaf clovers and other symbols of hope.

Classic. Pearls in the Jackie Kennedy-Audrey Hepburn mode are a natural with white. The monochromatic touch is timeless.

Laid-back. Cool white shirts, open at the collar, cry out for the dangling, chandelier earrings that are so hot this season. All kinds of dangling earrings, especially in yellow gold for your newly tanned summer customers, are just right for those white shirts.
