Pop Some Champagne

Brown diamonds are perfectly suited to winter's apparel palette

Earth tones are evident in this winter’s clothing, and champagne diamonds will coordinate well. That’s just one way to hook your customers on brown or yellow diamonds. If you need more, the Champagne Diamond Center, sponsored by Argyle Diamonds of Australia, has a free champagne diamond sales kit, a list of suppliers who carry champagne diamonds and a Web site where you can list your store for customer referrals. “People are intrigued by these diamonds,” says Margaret DeYoung of Ernest Slotar Inc., Chicago, IL. “They look at them and think they behave like a diamond, but they don’t look like a diamond. It takes a more creative mind to appreciate their beauty.”

Display these diamonds with flair. Pair them with coffee beans – the beans’ dull finish under the brilliance of the diamonds will make an eye-popping display. Or try wheat, faux fur or sand – anything in an earth tone with a dull finish.
