Orange and brown gemstones add flavor to fall jewelry

Jewelry has been crazy with color for the past few years – think of all the vibrant blues, sunny yellows and ravishing reds. This fall, however, the call to answer is the warm, cozy feel of orange and brown. Thought of as this year’s neutrals, they can be found most commonly in carnelian, Mandarin garnet, yellow calcite, yellow tourmaline, smokey topaz, tiger’s eye and smokey quartz. “The resurgence of yellow gold has helped the popularity of these neutrals too,” says Lisa Jenks of Lisa Jenks Inc., New York City.
