Golden Spring

A slew of new gold releases continues the precious metal's return in time

Gold and Goldplated Timepiece introductions accelerated this fall. Notable in this return of the warmest of precious metals is the increased use of rose and pink gold. A few choice pieces are among the options shown here.

Christian Dior’s Malice women’s watch is now available with a round case and in goldplate. The watch, with links that retain the CD motif, is made at Dior’s new manufacturing facility in Switzerland using Swiss quartz movements. Suggested retail, $800; a steel version is $650.

Two new solid 18k women’s watches from Festina feature Swiss movements and are made at the company’s headquarters in Spain. At left, $2,900 suggested retail; at right, $1,690.

Skagen’s elongated rectangle women’s watch features a flexible V-Mesh bracelet made of braided strands of steel. The watch is pictured in gold-tone and is available also in steel and with various dials. Suggested retail of the model shown, $105.

Yellow gold joins rose and white gold in IWC’s line of 18k Portuguese chronographs. The collection also features five new dial variations, including the black dial shown on this rose gold model. The crocodile strap closes with a gold buckle.

TAG Heuer’s new gold Classics series includes this Monza 18k chronograph based on a design from the 1930s. The cushion-shaped case surrounds a silver dial with applied gold markers. The hand-stitched crocodile strap is finished with a karat gold buckle. Suggested retail, $7,500.

This new men’s 18k rose gold chronograph from Cyma features a solid karat gold bracelet and fold-over clasp. The automatic chronograph has a white dial and silver subdials with date. Suggested retail, $5,995.
