USA Studs Patents Invisible-Setting Method

The City Lights collection features a big look

During a Hollywood premier, multiple spotlights work together to brighten the night sky and lead the way to the stars with an unmistakable brilliance. This was the inspiration for “City Lights,” the new diamond jewelry collection from USA Studs. With a patented process, the company puts together the lights of seven stones into an invisible setting with its own twist.

The larger center diamond is cut with six sides. The surrounding diamonds are cut to fit directly into the center one. A special bezel and more diamonds frame the invisibly set design and give the piece its finished shape.

“This is essentially a 2-ct. look for a 1-ct. budget,” says Vice President Ilan Siman-Tov. “We use only F and G colors with VVS1 or VVS2 diamonds.”

Set to debut in June in Las Vegas, the collection starts at a quarter-carat version for $740 with a full keystone markup. Initially USA Studs will offer 24 designs in rings, necklaces, pendants, earrings and bracelets. Many pieces also include diamonds beyond the City Lights center. The City Lights models are made in white or yellow 18k gold, while platinum can be custom-ordered.
