Falling for Color

A choice of hues is key for consumers

As More and more colors find their way into jewelers’ timepiece showcases, consumers are clearly interested in sampling the variety. Retailers report multiple sales to customers who want to mix and match based on dial and strap color.

Rado’s new Sintra Superjubile Style combines a high-tech ceramic case with a galuchat (stingray) strap available in a variety of colors. Diamonds are set into the case, which is available in two sizes. Suggested retail, $2,800 and up.

Marcel Watch’s square-case model is set with Swarovski crystals and features a mother-of-pearl dial in a matching color. Leather straps come in numerous colors; crystals are available in several patterns.

The Piazza square quartz chronograph from Ritmo Mundo is available in numerous color combinations. Options include a 72-diamond bezel and a mother-of-pearl dial. Retail price for the model pictured, $900.

Leonard’s new Atom comes in two sizes (32mm and 38mm) with automatic or quartz movement. Mother-of-pearl dials can include diamond hour markers. Straps are alligator, sateen, calf leather, rubber, brushed steel or Milanese. Diamond bezel models pictured are $2,100 suggested retail (top) and $2,700.

Bucherer, a wide-ranging line by one of Switzerland’s best-known jewelry and watch brands, offers this 18k Pathos with mother-of-pearl dial and 46 diamonds. The satiny fabric strap attaches with a gold clasp.
