Fashion magazines in October and November made a big fuss over dangle earrings. The October issue of InStyle featured vintage dangles from the collection of Marilyn Monroe, auctioned Oct. 27-28 at Christie's in New York City. The October cover of Vogue boasted Winona Ryder in simple and wonderful pearl, diamond and onyx dangles from Fred Leighton. October's Town & Country devoted a page-long article to the gorgeous drops. Clothing and costume jewelry advertisers got into the act too, with companies like St. John by Marie Gray and the 1928 Jewelry Co. showing off their dangle earring styles.

The two most popular dangle styles are simple pearl, diamond or colored stone drops or over-the-top chandelier earrings redolent of the Swinging Sixties. Either way, this style can't help but win the hearts and earlobes of consumers this holiday season!
