Cross Craze

It's official; crosses have become a trend again, says New York Times fashion writer Ruth La Ferla in an Aug. 19 article. Crosses are being worn as a statement of faith or a badge of status or even as a testament to chic. Celebrities Cher, members of the boy band N'Sync and fashion-plate/actress Chloe Sevigny have been seen flaunting cross jewelry.

The new style of cross pendants range from tiny and discreet to goblet-size and crazily embellished, according to La Ferla. The bolder variations are a hit with rappers, who wear them in diamond-paved platinum, and ornately-carved neo-Victorian styles are popular with fashion acolytes.
