Spotlight on Small
With consumers slowing their spending, it's no surprise smaller stones are getting more attention. Some of the hottest sparkling jewelry this summer, says Departures writer Kathleen Fitzpatrick, is pavé. According Fitzpatrick, pavé allows you to have serious pieces of jewelry with a sense of humor.
The July/August issue of Departures has a six-page photo spread of pavé designs including: a seahorse brooch with golden sapphires, mandarin garnets and diamonds in 18k yellow and white gold by Gregory Morin for Silverhorn Jeweller; sea anemone earrings of pavé sapphires and diamonds in silver and 18k yellow gold from the Fruits de Mer collection by Taffin; rings in silver and 18k gold with yellow and purple sapphires and white, yellow and pink diamonds from Gioia; bee brooches with yellow and white diamonds pavé-set in 18k yellow and white gold and pink and white diamonds pavé-set in 18k rose and white gold from Sabbadini; and a floral ring with pavé-set pink sapphires and white diamonds in 18k white gold from the I Fiori collection of La Nouvelle Bague.
