Site Review | Professional Jeweler

The holiday season is over, inventory is out of the way (hopefully) and it's time to sit back and relax a little. One way is to surf the Internet, but often it's difficult to locate the URLs of sites you'd like to visit.

A site called Connections offers a lot of help, providing links to more than 150 different sites covering 16 topics, including business, politics, reference media and government. The site sponsor, an Internet service provider called EZ Networks, has assembled an interesting variety of links and it's easy to spend hours clicking from one to another.

While many cover serious topics, some are fun too. The "Funny Pages" section includes links to "Dilbert" and "The Far Side," and the "Entertainment" list has David Letterman's Top 10 List. Link to the ESPN Sportszone or under "Sports" or the Internet Chef or Epicurious cooking sites under "Food."

Need some information? The "Reference" heading includes links to Bartlett's Famous Quotations, Roget's Thesaurus, a ZIP code directory, MapQuest for driving directions, the Weather Channel and more.

If these don't keep you busy, "Hot Sites" is a gateway to more lists with hundreds of additional links. One warning: Occasionally some pages didn't connect, suggesting that perhaps the sponsor doesn't keep the site entirely up to date.
