Stuller Settings Inc. understands the Web is a wide-open space, so its site ably offers information to consumers and services to those in the trade without giving away the store.
The site is divided between public and private areas. On the public side, consumers can read a company history, a description of company services and see merchandise in the Stuller Showcase. The showcase is divided into categories such as Bridal, Diamond Fashion and Gemstone Rings. The user selects the category and a slide show of jewelry begins, with large clear photos and product number.
The consumer is instructed to jot down the product number and ask his or her jeweler for these Stuller products. There is no product information, no prices, stone weights or description of metal used, leaving the sales pitch up to the jeweler.
The password-protected private area has much more detailed information special offers on merchandise, catalog updates, searchable merchandise databases and shipment tracking. The searchable diamond and gemstone database is updated daily. Encrypted secure on-line ordering and e-mail ordering are possible. You can also read articles in Finding Facts, a monthly Stuller newsletter.
The framed site looks clean, the links work well and quickly, and a simple navigation bar remains on the top of every page.
