TIJT Texas Institute of Jewelry Technology

The Texas Institute of Jewelry Technology in Paris, TX, has put together a fun and resourceful site for current and prospective students, watchmakers and watch enthusiasts.

Since there's so much to see, the best way to browse this site is by going directly to Cooltime, a section of the Web site about watches and chronographs. Set up in frames, this area is easiest to navigate, since the site's content includes dozens of links that whisk you away to other organizations' Web sites – here you can connect to these links plus see the entire TIJT site without leaving the domain.

Everybody involved with the school gets a voice here. There's the usual background about school programs – the watch department, gemology and jewelry short courses – and a list of watchmaking links. Each instructor has his own page to exhibit designs and introduce himself, and the TIJT Student Association publishes its student newsletter on-line. And for people thinking about coming to the school, a funny article details "Things To Do at Night in Paris." Many such touches of humor make the site an enjoyable read.
