Zale Rings In 75th Year at NY Stock Exchange

Zale Chairman and CEO Bob DiNicola placed jewelry into the minds of the bull-market financial world today as he rang the opening bell to start trading at the New York Stock Exchange.

Zale Corp., the nation's largest specialty retailer of fine jewelry, celebrated its 75th anniversary today. DiNicola was joined by eight Marilyn Monroe look-alikes, who sang "Diamonds Still are Zale's Best Friend," a remake of "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" from the 1953 film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Although Zale was first listed on the NYSE in 1996, today's event marked the first time the company has rung the opening bell.

In addition to starting the trading, Zale hosted an analyst meeting at the NYSE, updating the Wall Street community about the company's ongoing success. The NYSE opening often receives national media coverage.
