Exhibit Forecasts Watch Trends
"The Luxury of Time," a two-day public exhibit previewing the latest trends in fine timepieces for the year 2000, will be held at The Time, Time Square's newest hotel between Broadway and Eighth Ave. in New York City later this month.
Sponsored by the Jewelry Information Center, the public preview will take place June 16-17. Admission is free. More than 130 of the world's finest watches, representing 23 brands, will be exhibited, most for the first time.
The watches will represent 12 trends, from celebrity watches and watches for sports professionals to those made with innovative materials. ALU, the designer and manufacturer of visual merchandising fixtures, will showcase the exhibit. Artist and illustrator Mark Gagnon, whose work has been featured at Barney's and in consumer magazines, designed the exhibit.
Participating watch companies include Austern & Paul, Bertolucci, Boucheron, Breitling, Cartier, Charriol, Chaumet, Chopard, Cyma, Daniel Roth Delance, Ebel, Fortis, Gerard Genta, Henry Dunay, IWC, Jaeger-Le Coultre, Jorg Hysek, Montblanc, Piaget, Robert Dubois, TAG Heuer and The St. Petersburg Collection.
