Swarovski Supports Jewelry Training Facility
A $100,000 donation by Swarovski Crystal Components in Cranston, RI, will help support the educational partnership between Rhode Island College and the Manufacturing Jewelers & Suppliers of America.
The gift will allow RIC to broadcast interactive training seminars from its jewelry manufacturing training facility on its campus in Providence to educational and manufacturing centers across the U.S. RIC renamed the facility the Swarovski Laboratory for Training and Jewelry Design in recognition of the donation.
The educational facility, a joint effort by MJSA and RIC, opened in early 1999 to provide hands-on training for jewelry manufacturing students and continuing education for industry veterans.
