Bulova To Set Retailer Sites

Bulova has developed a program that gives its retailer clients a Web site and, if they desire, the technological support to help them start to sell Bulova watches online.

While several jewelry vendors offer similar programs, Bulova is the first large watchmaker to offer this type of Internet partnership. Teaming with Polygon Network, which develops Web sites for the jewelry industry, Bulova will either create a participating retailer's first site or add Bulova watches to an existing site. Online consumers interested in Bulova watches will see a fully updated collection, complete with high-resolution images and technical information. Bulova will maintain all the information and online images. The user always remains within the retailer's Web site.

After the introduction of the Web sites, Bulova and Polygon will make e-commerce an option for retailers signed on to the program this spring. This will allow consumers to buy Bulova timepieces from the retailer's site only. (Bulova's corporate site lists authorized dealers and doesn't sell to consumers.) The company will provide all software needed to provide secure online sales for free to the participating retailer.
