Intergold To Market Ekati Diamonds

Intergold and Arslanian Cutting Works announced Intergold will market ACW's cut and polished gem-quality diamonds from the Ekati diamond mine in Canada's Northwest Territories, beginning in the third quarter of 2000.

Intergold is a designer, manufacturer and marketer of precious and non-precious metal custom jewelry. ACW, one of the three designated purchasers of the premium quality Ekati rough, cuts and polishes the diamonds in Yellowknife. ACW has operations in key diamond centers, including Belgium.

The agreement will allow Intergold access to more than US$25 million of cut and polished diamonds annually, with a retail value in excess of that.

"We are utilizing our existing technology and craftsmen at our plants, already versatile in both high-end and emblematic jewelry in which we are continuing with an aggressive business plan," says Miran Armutlu, president and CEO of Intergold. He says the two companies will explore ways to expand their business relationship.
