PrimeTime Takes New Names
The PrimeTime Fall Marketplace & Conference has a new name The Professional Jeweler Show in Las Vegas.
When the show debuted last year as PrimeTime, many buyers and exhibitors didn't know who sponsored the show and often confused it with other Las Vegas jewelry shows, say show executives. Buyers and exhibitors frequently referred to it as "The Professional Jeweler Show" since it was produced and managed by Professional Jeweler magazine.
"At a recent meeting of our show council, the buyer and vendor representatives who were there recommended that we tie the show in with the fine reputation Professional Jeweler has gained in its two-and-a-half years of existence," says Charles Bond, publisher of the magazine. "They also felt that PrimeTime doesn't really describe a show, so they suggested that we combine the name most people are familiar with, Professional Jeweler, with the word 'show.'"
The dates of the show are Sept. 10-12, and the conference program begins Sept. 9 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Bond says the show is still directed at independent jewelers and is still aimed at buying for the holiday season. Merchandise shipping stations will be back, allowing jewelers and exhibitors to send merchandise directly to their stores from the exhibit floor. Several exhibitors will offer next-day shipment from the factory with similar delivery results.
