Frederick Goldman Inc., New York City, expanded its reach in the branded bridal jewelry market by acquiring ArtCarved, one of the oldest names in the industry, from Aurafin Corp. ArtCarved joins Keepsake in the Goldman stable of branded bridal jewelry. Goldman bought Keepsake in December 1998.
ArtCarved was founded in 1850 and is sold through authorized retailers throughout the U.S. and Canada. The ArtCarved line has more than 300 styles in 14k and 18k yellow and white gold and platinum, priced from $250 to $2,000, retail.
Goldman says the move will result in "increased impact on the retail floor, including additional marketing tools, selective distribution and intense recognition in the bridal jewelry marketplace." Goldman will launch a "reimaging advertising and promotional campaign" for ArtCarved in 2001.
Richard Goldman, who heads the Goldman firm, also will serve as president of ArtCarved.
