With the holidays fast approaching, many retailers and e-tailers are sprucing up their Web sites for holiday shoppers. Friedman's Inc. and Crescent Jewelers, Friedman's West Coast affiliate, launched e-commerce Web sites this week in a joint venture. The new e-stores feature nearly 500 items and are online at www.friedmans.com and www.crescentonline.com.
American Jewelry Corp. upgraded its e-store, adding seasonal specials and improved product images. The updated site will also include a new line of gold jewelry enhanced with colored gem stones and diamonds. The site additions will be online Monday at www.ElegantChoice.com; however, it will take up to two or three weeks to update all product images.
Just in time for the holidays, Ashford.com has added a home and lifestyle department to its luxury e-store. The company also added a set of holiday gift recommendations compiled by fashion specialist Jill Newman. The theme for Ashford's holiday gift guide is luxurious accessories in rich color, gold, exotic skins or sensuous fabrics. Included in the gift suggestions at www.ashford.com are a pair of Ashford Collection near-colorless 1-ct. diamond stud earrings, a Techno Marine Techno Diamond watch with pink PVC strap and stainless steel case set with pave diamonds and an Ashford Collection diamond line bracelet with alternating princess-cut and round brilliant diamonds.
Ask Jeeves, a Web search engine that uses a question-answering format, has created the Jeeves Holiday Gift Advisor to help customers make gift-buying decisions based on buying preferences and budget. Jeeves, online at www.ask.com, has partnered with e-tailers, including Ashford.com, to provide gift recommendations from over 300 products including jewelry, electronics, sporting goods and more.
In addition, leading discount retailers Wal-Mart, Kmart, Ames and Target have launched or redesigned their online stores for the holidays. Their e-stores can be found at www.walmart.com, www.bluelight.com, www.ames.com and www.target.com.
