Ashford.com to Sell Products on eBay
Ashford.com, an online luxury goods retailer, has signed a marketing agreement with eBay, the large online auction site, to sell watches, jewelry and other luxury goods from the Ashford Outlet on eBay. The agreement makes Ashford part of a small group of retailers who can sell items on eBay in an auction-style or fixed-price format.
Under the agreement, eBay will promote the Ashford Outlet, which sells discontinued or seasonal luxury goods, through a variety of marketing initiatives to its 30 million registered users. "We're excited about increasing the exposure of our items in the Ashford Outlet through a powerful and proven auction venue," says Ashford.com CEO David Gow. "We see this as an opportunity to develop a new channel that we believe will increase sales efficiently."
The agreement with eBay is the latest in a series of alliances formed by Ashford.com. In the past few months, Ashford has entered agreements with American Express, Northwest Airlines, Sharper Image and MSN. Ashford aims to reach profitability in the fourth quarter this year.
