Celebrities Sue Damiani International
Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston filed a $50 million lawsuit against Italian manufacturer Damiani International last week. The couple says Damiani, who made their wedding rings, breached an agreement never to reproduce the rings.
The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, says Damiani International obtained "the kind of publicity that money can't buy" by replicating the rings and selling them on the Internet and at stores in Las Vegas, NV, and Palm Desert, CA, Reuters reports. Pitt and Aniston seek an injunction to stop Damiani from selling the rings and using their names and images in its advertising. The lawsuit claims Damiani named the jewelry "Brad and Jennifer white-gold wedding bands with diamonds."
Pitt designed the wedding bands for his and Aniston's wedding in July last year. Both rings are made of white gold and diamonds. Aniston's ring has 20 diamonds and is engraved with "Brad 2000," and Pitt's ring has 10 diamonds and is engraved with "Jen 2000," the Associated Press reports.
