Online Jewelry Sales Rise in July
Market-research companies Forrester Research and Greenfield Online reported total U.S. online sales rose from $3.2 billion in June to nearly $4 billion in July. Online jewelry sales rose from $8.4 million to $8.8 million.
The number of households shopping online increased from 13.1 million in June to 14.7 million in July, and the average amount each shopper spent rose from $247 to $270.
Forrester Research and Greenfield Online release the Forrester Online Retail Index each month. It measures the growth and seasonality of online shopping based on information collected from a panel of 5,000 online shoppers. Forrester Research is based in Cambridge, MA, and Greenfield Online is in Wilton, CT.
