Asprey & Garrard to Expand

Asprey & Garrard, the prestigious London jewelers, again announced it plans to separate into two companies (see Oct. 2000 news) as well as open new stores and add lines of clothing, shoes and housewares, the Associated Press reports.

According to AP, the company wants to have a group of luxury brands. The current plans include turning Asprey into a British luxury lifestyle brand and Garrard into a serious jewelry company that's also hip. The two companies will try to reach out to younger buyers and strengthen their international profile. They plan to open at least 30 new stores in the coming years and refurbish stores in London and New York City, AP reports.
