Some Jewelers Near WTC Are Safe
After checking in with several jewelry retailers in lower Manhattan, Professional Jeweler learned none of these businesses
lost staff during Tuesday's World Trade Center attack. With the area
currently evacuated, visits and phone calls aren't possible.
However, a spokesman for William Barthman Jewelers, an historic building site on the corner of Broadway and Maiden Lane, just two blocks from the
Center complex, said the store's employees are safe and the store
remains intact. Barthman operates a second store in Brooklyn, NY.
