Swatch Sales Today Benefit Firefighter and Police Families

The proceed from all sales made today at the 33 Swatch retail stores in the U.S. will be donated to the New York Police & Fire Widows & Children's Benefit Fund. Sales from Swatch's online store, www.swatch.com, also will be donated to the fund, which assists families in need as a result of the Sept. 11 attacks.

"By dedicating every dollar of every sale, we not only support their families, but strive to assist in the healing process," says Yann Gamard, Swatch Group U.S. chief executive. The Swiss company placed full-page announcements in the New York Times yesterday with the statement: "We can never be like they were. But their families are just like ours. Let's help them."

Swatch operates stores in New York City, Chicago, Honolulu, Washington, DC, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Miami, Seattle, Boston, Newark and other cities. A complete list is available at www.swatch.com or by calling (800) 8-SWATCH.
