GIA Participates in Auction for America, Announces Scholarship
The Gemological Institute of America announced today it donated products from its GIA GEM Instruments inventory to eBay's Auction for America, a fund-raising auction to benefit disaster relief work following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. All auction proceeds will go toward the September 11 Fund and aid the families of the thousands killed in New York, Washington and Western Pennsylvania.
GIA's auctions will include a GIA GEM Instruments' GemoLite® Super 60 Zoom Mark X and accompanying Overhead Light Source, which have a combined retail value of $3,995. Also, more than a dozen jewelry and gemology books will be up for bid. The 10-day auction will begin today. To bid on any of GIA's items, visit http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/gia_auction..
