MJSA Seeks Entries for American Vision Awards

Manufacturing Jewelers & Suppliers of America is now accepting entries for its 2002 American Vision Awards jewelry design competition. The contest recognizes the talent and innovation of designers whose work is influencing the future design trends of the jewelry industry.

Independent jewelry designers, company-employed designers and students enrolled in art or design college programs are eligible to enter. There are two categories, professional and student, and all winners will receive the American Vision Award, an exquisite piece of Swarovski crystal. In addition, professional winners will receive $1,500 for first place and $750 for second place. Student winners will receive a $500 scholarship for first place and a $250 scholarship for second place as well as a one-year AJM subscription.

Awards will be presented at Behind the Design: Designer Day 2002 on March 8 at New York City's Fashion Institute of Technology. The winning designs will be on display during Expo New York, a trade show for jewelry manufacturers, March 10-12 at Pier 94, the UnConvention Center.
