SJTA and AGTA Plan Joint Venture for August Shows
The Southeastern Jewelry Travelers Association and the American Gem Trade Association are in final negotiations to cohost the Atlanta Jewelry Show and the new annual AGTA GemFairSouth at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, GA, Aug. 3-5, 2002.
SJTA currently manages and produces the semi-annual Atlanta Jewelry Show. AGTA hosts the Tucson Gem Fair and the AGTA Paviion in Las Vegas.
"By adding this loose colored stone product dimension to the August edition of our show, we will further strengthen our position as one of the most comprehensive jewelry events in the industry," says Carol Young, executive director at SJTA.
"Hosting these complementary shows in the same exhibition hall, at the same time, offers tremendous business-building opportunities for attendees and exhibitors of both shows," says Douglas K. Hucker, executive director at AGTA.
Running concurrently, the two events plan to present 950 exhibitors. The Cobb Galleria Centre is undergoing an expansion scheduled for completion in March 2002, which will provide the additional space required for this proposed expanded exhibiton. In addition, the two shows plan a combined series of educational programs and networking events.
