Van der Kallen Named Richemont Chief in North America

Baume & Mercier 's U.S. president Thomas Van der Kallen has been named president of the new watch division of Richemont North America. He now oversees a full roster of Richemont's prestigious watch brands: Jaeger-LeCoultre, Piaget, Baume & Mercier, IWC, Vacheron Constantin, A. Lange & Sohne and Officine Panerai. Each brand will retain current brand managers. Richemont's other companies – including Cartier, Montblanc, Dunhill and Lancel – are not included in the new watch division.

In his new position, Van der Kallen reports to Richemont's watch division in Geneva. Last year, Richemont reorganized its watch division globally, naming former Jaeger-Le Coultre President Henry-John Belmont as its chief following the death of Gunther Blumlein, who held the title initially.

Edward Wright, former Baume & Mercier West Coast sales director, is now president of the brand and is moving from Vancouver, BC, Canada, to Baume & Mercier headquarters in New York City. Wright introduced the Baume & Mercier brand to the Canadian market in 1995.

Rudy Chavez, formerly Baume & Mercier East Coast sales director, was promoted to vice president for sales and is responsible for the brand's sales in the U.S. and Canada. He reports to Wright.
