WGC Launches Retail Support Materials at JCK Show

The World Gold Council debuted new sales support materials at the JCK Show in Las Vegas, May 31-June 4, including a consumer-oriented brochure which can also be used as a sales training tool. It includes information on karatage, colors and finishes. It also produced a sale training CD-ROM, "The Insider's Guide to Selling Gold: From Basics to Beyond," covering gold's history, what constitutes real gold, popular items in gold jewelry, finishes, craftsmanship, care of gold jewelry and sales tips.

WGC also has logo blocks featuring its new goldmark for in-case use, new photography captured in Duratrans for use in stores, and 14k and 18k in-case signs.

The new items may be purchased individually or as a package. "We encourage everyone – retailers, designers and suppliers – who wants to capitalize on the continue growth of the fine gold jewelry market to use these sales support items," said John Calnon, vice-president, Jewelry-Americas for WGC. "They build on the presence and influence of our national advertising campaign as well as the increasing popularity of gold jewelry in fashion magazines."
